Atelier Leather is a small independent workshop. We begin with how an object will be used, then choose the leather, construction, and stitching that serve it best. Rather than follow short-lived decoration, we make pieces that become more personal through years of use.
OUR BELIEF
Durability need not feel heavy, and handcraft need not be ornate. Good design can be quiet, precise, and open to the changes time will bring.
Let the material remain itself
Natural leather carries growth marks, tonal variation, and small traces. We treat these as part of its identity, arranging each cut around grain, stretch, and stress rather than hiding every difference beneath a heavy finish.
Use handwork where it matters
Pattern cutting, skiving, stitching, and edge finishing all serve structure and touch. We hand stitch where it offers real value and use dependable tools where consistency matters, never treating “handmade” as decoration without purpose.
Leave room to repair and continue
We favour materials and structures that can develop, be cared for, and stay in use. Normal wear is not necessarily the end of a piece; where practical, the atelier can advise on cleaning, recolouring, hardware, or local structural repair.
